Cabin in the Woods **

60” or 82½” square

The smaller quilt can be made with one jelly roll, and the larger quilt has an extra row of blocks all the way round. This pattern matches the Fir Tree Close wall-hanging. Two jelly rolls of 40 x 2½” strips plus cream, border and binding fabric will be enough fabric to make an 82½”  double bed quilt and the wall-hanging. A delightful log cabin quilt with a difference that is a pleasure to stitch. You could easily make this into a king-size or even super king-size by adding more rows of blocks. By arranging the blocks with the darks and lights in different positions the appearance can be changed. The large quilt has a tree effect, the smaller one gives a 3-D effect.

Clear step-by-step instructions are given. I used two jelly rolls from Kansas Troubles.

It contains foundation piecing and appliqué.

These are my personal favourites and are in my bedroom and I never tire of them.
