As promised I am uploading the second lesson of the Stitch School. What was just cross stitch has now become Cross Stitch Plus.
Most of the designs have some cross stitch, but there are a number of new stitches too. The small hangings make lovely stocking fillers or a small gift in a card – now is the time to start!
The wrist biscornu pincushions are invaluable and very comfortable to use. A great gift for a stitching friend.
Two designs from my research into Indian designs are included here. The Taj Mahal, I think is my all-time favourite to stitch and to look at. The counted-thread stitches are not difficult and have been covered in the Stitch School. Don’t be held back because of fear of the blue fabric. You can always use a pale colour and change the creams for something else. The greys would go with almost anything.
I shall include later a counted thread trio of London designs in a similar format to the Taj. I am having to restitch these because the originals were sold for charity, but I am enjoying it as they are very satisfying to stitch. I would just like more time!!
Another blackwork design is a small picture, again with an Indian influence. This does not take too long to stitch and basically only includes cross stitch and back-stitch, so no trouble there. Metallic thread adds a sparkle.
The next vintage Friendship patchwork Block of the Month is now available. You may get hooked by these – they are really quite special I think. Especially as they are free at the moment.!
Keep stitching – especially in these trying times.
With love from Carol
